From Rotoworld

Joey Gathright, who hit his first professional homer while at Triple-A Durham last season, said he has added 17 pounds of "mostly muscle" this winter.
Probably a good thing, although fantasy owners will hope it doesn't take anything away from him on the basepaths. Gathright said he'd welcome a trade to a team that would use him regularly. Something still might happen, but the Rays' asking price would have to drop a little. Jan. 29 - 1:49 pm et

I don't think he's the next Babe Ruth, but a little more pop could make him almost interesting. Will Lou "I hate rookies" finally give him some real playing time?

It's out of Lou's hands I think. I thought he left he D-Rays. Well, it doesn't matter anyway, between Delmon Young, Rocco Baldelli and Carl Crawford he had no future in TB anyway.

No, but Joe Maddon might.

He doesn't have a chance in TB, which is why he will be traded eventually. Even with Delmon in the minors, they have Gomes/Huff to play RF/DH.

Isn't Huff going to play mostly 1B this year? With Gomes as the full time DH?
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Nope, the Rays signed T. Lee again to play 1B. Even if Huff was at 1B and Gomes at DH, Gathright isn't a RF. They would have to move Rocco to RF (which I don't see happening, when he would move back once Delmon was ready), cause Gathright doesn't have the arm to play RF.

Honestly, I would hope he doesn't start taking interest in hitting for power - that isn't his calling card. Last thing you want is a speedster swinging for the fences, though I agree with others that it likely won't occur in TB with Crawford, Baldelli and, soon, DY in the OF.

Dear Marlins,

Gathright is gaining muscle and is showing a attitude of wanting to play so that trade for Olsen looks better now right? ;-) ;-D

Yeah, Joe Maddon's the guy in Tampa now... as for the Devil Rays, I saw on ESPN that new ownership is looking to change the team name. I always thought "Devil Rays" was stupid anyway. Can I vote for the Tampa Bay Manatees, or, conversely, the Tampa Bay Sea Cows?
