Or even 10 HR's.

Onethingabout Piazzais that he is a true baseballplayer.
he wants to beinit, hewantstoplay and he wants to leave a legacy.
The guy does not want to ride a bench and see other people play instead of him.
IMO he stilll has a sandlot kid in him and will do everything he can to prove himself.
best of luck to the guy.
He will always be a class act in my eyes and hope he surprises many by getting 25 homers.
Hall of fame guy making best of the twighlight.

What a waste of $2 million dollars.

The article on the mlb.com front page reads like this:
"Packing a Hall of Fame-worthy bat along with some well-worn tools of
ignorance, Mike Piazza is returning to Southern California, where his career began. The Padres and the 12-time All-Star catcher agreed on Sunday to a one-year, $2 million contract."
Yet when you click the link to read the full story, ignorance is replaced with intelligence. Does someone at mlb.com hate Piazza?

Wow, don't forget to start anyone that has two working legs against San Dieg now... The value of base-stealers in the NL West just increased. Oh yea.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike
