BEST LINEUP IN THE NL?

I love the Brew Crew's lineup, but Lee is overrated. .811 OPS is nothing special.

You know you don't have to special to have lots of value . Anyway I also really like the Brew Crew this season.

I'd take the Phillies lineup #1 right now with the Cards, Reds and Mets next in line.

I agree that Lee's year last year was not as good as people think, most seem obsessed with the RBI total. However it was also an off year for him and his first year on a new team and in a new league. I fully expect him to increase his OPS this year closer to his 2004 numbers, probably in the .850 range.

Its quite possible that every hitter in the Brewers lineup except the C could have a .770+ OPS and they could have up to 6 guys with over an .800 OPS depending on how the young guys do. Not very many teams can make that claim. I fully expect them to be a tier 2 offense this year unless Fielder completely tanks it facing major league pitching which I do not belive will happen.

He is, Hardy will be the everyday SS for the Brewers. The original poster's lineup doesn't look right at all. I don't know how it will look for sure, except that I highly doubt Weeks will hit 8th and I know Hall won't start at SS. This is what I forsee:

vs. RHP

1 CF Brady Clark
2 SS JJ Hardy
3 3B Corey Koskie
4 LF Carlos Lee
5 RF Geoff Jenkins (not Geonkins or however he spelled it)
6 2B Rickie Weeks
7 1B Prince Fielder
8 C Damian Miller

I like this order because it goes R-R-L-R-L-R-L-R. But I get the feeling that the 2, 3, 6, and 7 spots are undetermined. Those four guys could go anywhere. Against LHP, Bill Hall will start at 3B and Koskie will be on the bench.

Anyway, I would rank the NL lineups as following:

1. Cardinals
2. Phillies
3. Mets
4. Reds
5. Braves
6. Dodgers
7. Brewers
8. Astros
9. Giants
10. Cubs
11. Pirates
12. Padres
13. Diamondbacks
14. Rockies
15. Nationals
16. Marlins

Could move up (high potential) -- Phillies, Braves, Brewers
Could move down -- Cardinals (injuries), Giants (age), Dodgers (injuries)

I think Bill Hall will play in about 100 games...

I think he will play 3B a lot to give Koskie days off. I also think he will play a game in the MI once a week to give some of the younger guys a day off.

Just my opinion.

Give the Cubs a little credit. They're a lot better than that awful Arizona lineup. I mean, they DO have 2 players that are better than the whole DBacks lineup combined.

D-Backs are too high. Cubs are too low. As for Mets vs. Phillies- who cares? They both look fantastic
