Latest I've heard from Rotoworld..

Cubs manager Dusty Baker indicated yesterday that Kerry Wood could return from shoulder surgery as a reliever before going into the rotation.

"It just depends on how Woody is," Baker said. "We have Woody slated as a starter, but if his endurance isn't up and he's ready, then that might be another way. That's just an option." A better one is giving Wood as much time as he needs on a rehab assignment and then putting him back into the rotation right away.

Spring training should be the best indicator of what's going on with Kerry Wood but from what I've read it appears that he will be listed as the third starter behind Zambrano and Prior.

Jim Hendry says he doen't want Wood coming back as a reliever. He doesn't think that if he is 100% that he should be on the mound, relieving or not. I don't think you will see him as a RP, which makes me think that It will be a slow comeback. His status is uncertain for a being ready for season opener. I would lean toward not. Still hope he is the same Wood when he does come back.

I'd just stay away from drafting him all together, let someone who doesn't have a clue about baseball and just knows Kerry Wood hmmm..... big name might as well draft him.

I will spend my next to last pick on him or last pick if he is still on the board. he is a high risk player, and if somehow he puts an entire season together...he is a very high reward player. but i will fill my pitching staff before getting him
