Duran Duran is also an exceptionally good band.
Rio (the album cover of which is seen in Dr. D2's sig) is a really good album, one of my Top-20 80s pop records.
And Huey & the boys are STILL one of the more fun bands to see live... I try to catch them whenever they come to Boston (which is usually once per summer).

A former girlfriend of mine took me to see them at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga. Apparently, she is the drummer's Goddaughter. I had the opportunity to meet Huey and the News backstage, and I must say they were quite nice. Some of the original members weren't still with the band, but everyone was very appreciative of their fans and very cool in person. I think I have some photos of the event, I'll try to post them up here.
