Whats the word on Gagne this year?

Postby Ballwreckers » Tue Jan 24, 2006 5:03 pm

I haven't heard much on him. I am hearing a buzz he is good to go for ST. Any truth to that?

Latest news I've heard is that he'll be ready for ST.

I think that people will overvalue him at the draft especially if he shows up healthy in ST. Even if he is healthy and throwing well early on, he is a huge injury risk and I'll pass on him this year.

I don't think he'll be that much of an injury risk since he's a reliver, but I do think he'll be overvalued as he may not have all his stuff initially. He also may tire as the year goes on.

Personally, I'll be surprised if he's 100% ready to go at the beginning of the year.

I'm inclined to suspect that he's likely to be overvalued. He'll show up in ST and be pronounced 'healthy' but we won't find out for sure until he has to reach back for that top 5% that he might not really have to do in ST.

He DOES have potential to do ok, be the Dodgers' closer and pick up saves. I can't see him being as dominant as he was during 'the streak' though, not after all the surgery. And he may very well throw something out of whack, but it could end up being a bit 'is he playing or isn't he debacle'. I will take the risk of picking up someone else I think...
