Eh, not necessarily. It won't help you if they rush him and he hits .240 for the first 2 years of his career. Better to make sure he's fully developed, though I think he'll follow along the Delmon path.

Josh Byrnes GM Arizonal will never rush Upton to the show. He could spend more time int he minors than big brother
i heard the same thing that he will be in the minors for quite some time developing, hes extremely young and wont be around for 3-4 years on the big show.... go with Drew (who will be up this year) or Wood or someone else unless you have Uptons rights for 5+ years

But things have changed a bit since then. The DBacks added Chris Young and also has Carlos Gonzales looking very promising for future OF. There's no need to make a quick decision about moving Upton to the OF at this point. Maybe they'll eventually move Drew to 2B and let Upton play SS, if he develops well there.
