Stephen Drew / Justin Upton situation??

what do you guys think is gonna happen with these 2 guys? one of them should be traded im guessing?

From what I have heard, Drew has the upperhand at SS. They are going to continue to work Upton at SS, but if Drew wins it, they will try Upton at 2B, then OF if that doesnt work. Neither are on the trade block though.

Ive heard scouts say that Upton has the skills to possibly get a few MLB ABs as soon as August. Id say the best situation for ARI would be to keep Drew at SS and move Upton to CF where he has the speed and arm.

Offensively both of them are MLB top talents, but they both need to work on their defense. Upton was having problems at SS in high school, so a position change might be soon for him. Drew probably has the greater chance to stay at SS, but even he has defensive problems and may be moved as well.

things will sort themselves out...and i don't see either of these young studs getting traded just because they both play SS right now.

I think the most likely situation is that Justin Upton will move to CF. But if he proves he can handle SS in the minors, I would suggest moving Stephen Drew to 2b where he would have above average offensive skills.

I severely doubt that either of them would be traded.

It comes down to Upton's right arm pretty much. If he can throw accurately, he is the D'Backs SS of the future. But if he can't Drew has every chance to stay at SS with the organizations lack of anyone else to move him.

Neither will be traded, they are to good of prospects for that. If Upton sticks at SS they can always move Drew to 2B or CF and if Drew stays at SS then Upton goes to CF.

6'2" 187, that weight will probably be up by Spring Training... he's only 18, I think he'll jump up to AA at best by the end of this year... and make it to the big show by next year.
