What's wrong with the first one, Jangles? I think it's plenty cool. All I personally would do is add a white glow to the names so they stand out from the background.

And don't trip so much about the quality drop, I think that's mostly only seen in the eyes of the artist himself.

Yeah seriously, I find it pretty funny when people post the full and the downsized, I can't tell the difference at all
