a yankee fan with a white sox sig....

mmm probaly one of those bandwagon fans... well good luck with that

anyways, the trade was compleated today and we got coco and he should have a good season with the sox.. im expecting his steal numbers to be a little lower then the past but overall a good season for crisp

:-t

I don't like this deal at all. The Sox are apparently giving up Mota, Marte, Shoppach, cash, and a PTBN for Coco, Riske, and Bard. That is way too much for way too little. I know we need a center fielder, but I can't believe Theo pulled the button on this one. I have to hope he's seeing something I don't...

Shoppach is mediocre at best. Where does he fit into Boston's plans over the next 4-5 years? Mota is an adequate set up man with the "potential" to be a closer. The player to be named will be a nobody and the cash is no big deal. The only player really worth anything is Marte and he's still a year away and needs to prove that he can perform at the next level.
Crisp is 26 with power/speed and defense and is under Boston's control for the next 5 years at an affordable price.
This is a good deal for Boston.
There's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

we had so little choices with center feilders this year after damon decided to take the money and run with the yankees. so making this deal for crisp is our best and almost only choice for a good CF. I believe that he will mesh in well with our offence and will definatly add a new spice to our whole team. i expect this guy to get better and better. and as for getting rid of marte, i am upset not to see this guy play atleast half way through the season for the sox but we have a 3B already and are in desprate need of a CF. the next thing on our list is a SS... god i really dont want to see alex gonzalez joining the sox.. he has defence .. so what?! his defence isnt that great anyways and his hitting absolutely sucks. if we get that desprate to get him it will definatly bring down our team @ the bottom of the lineup.

I love the Sox but I just hope that trading Marte doesnt bit us in the ass when time goes by. Marte I think will be good. Had a great year in AAA last year so i dunno. Crisp brings the sox a good CF but I'm wodnering if Boston gave up to much to get a CF.
