Wow, great trade for the tribe... this is going to come back to bite the Sox in the ass IMO. Crisp is a decent little player, but not close to Marte...

Oh brother I was hoping this deal was dead! As a Tribe fan losing Crisp bites!

Boston will be saying Johnny who??? after seeing Crisp play. Boston will also say what did we really give up to get crisp? A minor leaguer and Mota who's arm is worrisome.

I have said it before and I will say it again Marte is OVERRATED!! Not to mention that he may have a bum arm.

If this deal does go down I see the Tribe dealing a RP for a RF. Riske and Betancourt jump out as the most tradable. Tribe wants Blake as reserve at best the Tribe has a ton of bullpen arms, so somebody will go.

Rotoworld...The last iteration of the still-possible Coco Crisp deal had Andy Marte and Guillermo Mota going from Boston to Cleveland in a six-player trade, according to the Boston Globe.

The Indians would receive another player, likely a prospect, and the Red Sox would get a pair of players along with Crisp. As of last night, the deal appeared to have some parts moving into and out of the equation, according to the report. We could see the Red Sox ending up with David Riske in the deal, as the Indians would probably consider Mota to be an upgrade. Brad Snyder, Ryan Garko and Jason Dubois (a possible platoon partner for Trot Nixon) are some of the hitters Boston might have interest in. Jan. 21 - 3:32 am et

So maybe Riske ends up in Boston as well.

That is old news....It was in a Globe column this morning. I think this is a newer variation of the deal.

That says the Tribe told the Bosox they'd like to hang on to Crisp. And this, which appears to be like much of the thread, speculation and perhaps wishful thinking on the part of Red Sox fans that they snag Crisp. Does anybody have a link to something that's more than speculation? Just curious...
