Car Question...

Well...I get my lisence in under 2 weeks...

I had thought that I would have no car, but my Grandparents have generously offered to give me $20,000 towards a car!!!

I was floored...my grandparents are very wealthy and they love to make people happy...but I couldnt believe it.

Of course my parents didnt want me to accept, but they eventually caved.

So my question is this... with 20k, what is the best used/new car I could buy.

I am looking for either sedan or coupe...i would like it to be stylish, speedy, and sexy...the triple S.

I have been thinking of Mazda3, Scion tC, Honda Civic, Pontiac G6...something along those lines. Those are all new...if I went used I could step it up a bit.

So, I am looking for experienced car users to help out with this wonderful choice I have to make!

And could we keep it serious (aka i do not want "get the boob mobile"....asc)

How much is a Pontiac Solstice? I heard those are pretty cheap for how sporty and classy they are.

not practical for high school? thats perfect for high school. in high school i had a chevy cavalier with the passenger side door stuck shut. i would have killed for something like the solstice, or really anything with power windows and a functioning heater.

i dont know that i would call a honda civic sexy....or speedy....or stylish. but it is a good car. practical for high school.

No offense, but no 20k car is practical for HS. A practical HS car is a POS that runs.

I know you said you like the coupe or sedan style of cars, but I'd look into a Tacoma, Frontier or a Ranger.

I would seriously buy a used car if I were you, no offense but people who just get their license don't know how to drive and are bound to ding their car up somewher along the line.

Buy a used car and invest the rest so when you feel you a new car in college or after college, you can get a nice one.

toyotas and hondas hold value well and are generally durable cars.
