Salary Cap Advice

Postby aclapsaddle » Fri Jan 20, 2006 4:39 pm

Some members of our league want to use a salary cap system to control rosters, but we do not use an auction draft. One thought was to use the player values from a fantasy baseball magazine. I remember seeing something about using a "real" salary cap taking into account a player's actual salary. Has anyone ever done this? If so, do you have any advice? Can anyone recommend a site with 2006 salaries?

We're switching like you. We are taking the $$$ numbers for suggested auction spending and assigning them to each final roster for last year. Then the owner gets to decide who he wants to keep and who he wants to throw into the draft with no penalty. It's an easy transition that way. Everyone has to agree on the source for the $$$ projections and it's easy.

Thanks. That seems to be the best, if not the only option.

Or...you can use the 2005 salaries of players. I couldn't find the 2006 salaries anywhere. Here's a good link, and you can change teams from there.
