otsuka was just getting in an inning of work. which leaves coco to close out because of the comeback.
and coco got an unintentional save last night.
id say otsuka is still the man, but then again who knows what buck is thinking

Cordero in for the save.
Jeez. I hope this is nothing to read into.

while watching the tex-kc game, the FSN southwest commentators:
"if youre an out of town fan or a fantasy player you might see coco get 2 saves in a row and think hes the closer but its not the case it just has worked out that way"
the bigger(?) story here is burgos blowing another one..might be dessens time again

After Akinori Ostuka pitched the eighth with the Rangers down 2-0, Francisco Cordero received his second save in two days for closing out a 4-2 win on Wednesday night.
It's not a switch, though Cordero is showing that he'd be very good if he does get his old job back. Otsuka entered tonight's game because he needed the work, and with the Rangers on the road, there wasn't going to be a ninth inning for him to pitch unless the Rangers came back. Cordero got the save on Tuesday because there was a four-run lead after eight innings. Jun. 7 - 10:56 pm et

As long as it doesn't signal a change, I'm fine with Otsuka getting a win tonight instead of the save. I needed the win more in my H2H matchup.

Surprised I haven't seen a post on this yet, but last night when Schmidt got into trouble in the 9th (runners on 2nd/3rd with 0 outs), Jeremy Accardo was warming up and Benitez was nowhere to be seen. Benitez has been absolutely brutal so far, so perhaps this signifies a switch in SF? Accardo also got the save as recently as June 4 and has been pitching well the last few weeks.
In deeper leagues he may be worth taking a flier on

God I hope so. I've been pulling for this for a while. Having said that, it could be because Bentiez has pitched two high-stress/pitch innings in a row. I think the next save opp will be the telling one. Definitely something to keep an eye on though.
In other news, anyone have an update on Gag-me's situation?

Well, Alou did say that he was going to leave Schmidt in the game unless he let up the tying run, so really there was not going to be a save opportunity for anyone.

Coffey with a good line last night. sorry i am new to this thread it is awesome, great information! at this point would you guys find Coffey or Ray better source for saves? or pretty much even? i am leaning towards Coffey since Reds seem like they'll end up with more wins...
