Zito cant buy run support!

Postby Jack-In-A-Box » Mon Jun 23, 2003 9:06 pm

Ive almost traded him several times this year because the A's cant give him any run support and its almost a frustrating as having Bos bullpen blow every start Pedro has. Another good game going so far tonight and some guy named Mounce??? is shutting the A's out. I had 9 starts last week and 1 closer (Smoltz) I got 1 save 0 wins. Luckily my bats were killing the ball otherwise i woulda lost. But i really need some wins from Zito here soon. Oak always seems to score AFTER Zito is long gone from the game. :-C

Don't trade Zito!!!! Check the stats for the past 3 years - he's always lights out in the second half (a much better second than first half player).

He will light it up in the second half. He should get some run support too. If I was in your league I would be trying to get Zito from you in a trade.

Maybe Zito didn't get any run support today, but that play by Tejada certainly saved Zito at least 2 earned runs.

Stop whining, I have Hudson, who seems to be the mortal enemy of Keith Foulke.

i'm not trading Zito.. i've had about 6 offers in the last week tho. I'm just saying its so annoying having a guy who's era is well below 3.00 and half way through the year is stuck on 7 wins. I mean i feel for Hudson,Mulder and Zito. But more for Zito because i have him on my team. Maybe Chavez and Tejada can start rippin it up 2nd half and get these 3 some much deserved wins! Tejada appears to be warming up already.

I am in the same boat with you, Foulke's 3 blown saves were all Hudsons games....

Hey! To be fair, 2 of those BS weren't really his fault. One of them you can blame tejada for his error. Another one ...ok, it was his fault, but that pitch was way high and inside, and somehow fick still got good lumber on it. I don't remember the 3rd BS. Foulke is still a stud. Kenny Williams... u got shafted again! ;-D
