sol·dier
n.
One who serves in an army.

Did you get that from Bleach's dictionary?

Webster's says:

1 a : one engaged in military service and especially in the army b : an enlisted man or woman c : a skilled warrior

dictionary.com

But even by Webster's definition, they qualify as soldiers.

Having the nukes, and actually having someone in the White House with the stones to use them, are two completely different things.

This coming from a guy who voted for Bush. :-/
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Most colleges and Universities don't accept Wikipedia as a credible source.

It really sucks.

Wikipedia is NOT a credible source for research, at least in your citations. However, Wikipedia has great overviews on a variety of topics, particularly gov't and military related, and includes links and sources to things that CAN be cited. It's a great starting point.

For the most part, the bias against Wikipedia as a source is mostly related to a few overblown incidents and just bias against new internet based sources from old-fashioned professors. For the most part, the sources they use are valid, and its moderated heavily enough to fix most errors. If your teacher/professor doesn't like it though, I wouldn't use it.
As for the US Military, we would crush South America with a full, drafted army. We have such a massive air and naval superiority over them, that it just wouldn't matter how many men they have. If they have no air cover, all they can do is hide in a jungle or cave as bombs and cruise missles rain on them. And since the US probably wouldn't be looking into being an occupying force in the situation, hiding gives them no benefit besides survival. No country can match our air force and navy in a one on one conventional conflict. Not even debateble. China has a lot of sheer numbers, but their Navy is flimsy and their Air Force for the most part, is a lot of old Soviet fighters that aren't even as good as our current stuff, much less the new stuff coming down the tubes like the Raptor and F35.

Our air force would be brutal on any potental or invading force. Though, if all the armies of america lined up on the mexican border, they could still do a lot of damage, especially if they get into the cities.
