I need to write a paper for my International Relation Class(fun class, you do a project every 2 weeks. No homeworks )

The theme is about Military and whether or not US can defend themself in case, say, all those South American countrys wants to invade the US(I know it will never happen ).

I know I can eventually find the sources but I can probably get them quicker here. Thanks to all you people who know your way around the internet.

Military Budgets
Military Export/Import data if possible
Military Capabilities(whether they can/can't/is working on it build a nuclear weapon, whether they can build their own fighter jets and how advanced are they, whether they can build their own airplane carriers)

I think we really need to concentrate on Canada first and foremost. I'm not to worried about the central american nationalists.

As for your info needed, off the top of my head I don't know but google is fine place to start. And check out their individual sites.
The miltary relies on the private sector for all their gear. For instance Colt makes their M16 rifles. The only thing the military manufactures is Soldiers, Grunts, Airmen and Seamen.

I'm not sure about all of the other info you're looking for, but I'm positive that the CIA Factbook has this info.
