Favorite Rocky movie

If this has already been done I apologize but I did a search and couldn't find anything in a specific thread.

For me it would have to be Rocky IV (Drago) with III (Clubber) a very close second.

And by the off chance you select Rocky V (Tommy Gunn) then you will be immediately removed from the board.

It has to be Rocky 3. I mean you have Clubber Lang winning the belt, Mick Dying, and teaming up with Apollo. Of course don't forget THUNDER LIPS!

You people are crazy! IV? III? The original was easily the best of this series, followed very closely by Rocky II. The original story was excellent, with a great character we could easily identify with and a great story line. The fact that he didn't win the fight made it all the better.

Rocky II was almost equally as good, but the somewhat trite ending with his victory knocks it just below the original.

The movies after RII are crap - Rocky essentially becomes a super hero and Stallone gets totally sold on himself. Rocky becomes a caricature of Rocky that barely resembles the original. Remember how he couldn't read in the first movies? That was real. Beating a steroid-swollen Russian because he worked out in Siberia was crap. Clubber Lang? Crap. Thunder Lips? Crap.

And don't even get me started on Tommy Gunn and that whole mess. Sheesh.

Being a huge, huge Rocky fan, this poll is a bit tough. My favorite Rocky is IV (which is what I voted for), because I think it just elevated the series and was a great way to end it (Rocky V isn't even a movie in my universe). However, Rocky I shortly followed by Rocky II are the best done, and the entire reason the series became what it did. Incredible bouts with Apollo, great training, etc. etc.

For me, "best" and "favorite" are synonymous. IMO, the "best" one is my favorite.
