I picked Javy off waivers in week 2 and I don't think that i would move him for anyone other then a super stud. People complain about lack of production form SS, but Catcher is a feast or famine position, and boy is he feasting! He's the most productive Catcher in baseball by FAR! Fantasy wise, he is the MVP, bar none. The position he plays combined with his OBSCENE numbers make him the man in my book. Don't believe the "sell-high" crap. It's lookin more like 50 dingers then 35.
He will slow down. I say sell him before that happens.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Jee Madison, hardly recognized you with your new logo. I usually agree with you, but not this time. Javy isn't showing any signs of slowing down, he's on a roll and has put in a lot of extra hours with the amazing Terry Pendleton. I don't think he's gonna hit the 50 HR that some people are expecting, but I'm sure he'll be somewhere in the upper 30's.
I hope that you are only taking catcher with this statement.
Here are a few people that could give the MVP a run:
Haladay
Smoltz
Gagne
Delgado
V. Wells
Sheffield
Just to name a few. Too many games left to make that broad of a statement.
I will not rest until I have you holding a coke, wearing your own shoe, playing a Sega game featuring you, while singing your own song in a new commercial starring you, broadcast during a super bowl game you are winning. Show me the $$$!!!

Well, you can count all of the pitcher's out of the running right now. I just don't see a pitcher getting the MVP. That's what the Cy Young is for. I can guarantee that Javy Lopez will NOT be the National league MVP. Sheffield will get it before Lopez will.
I didn't say Lopez wouldn't end up with decent numbers, I'm just saying I'd trade him now, while his value is as high as it's going to get.

He said, "fantasy wise".
So the most valuable guy to have on your fantasy team...
He has a good point, however I don't think that catcher is as scarce as you are making it. Several guys having good seasons although Javy is certainly having the best...
I stand corrected. Missed the "fantasy wise" part of it. I'd say it's a possibility, but we'll see how it ends up.

I would vote for Pujols as the fantasy NL MVP over Lopez any day -- just as many homers, with many more runs, RBI, and a much better average. And of course he's still eligibile for another scarce position, 3B ...
Maybe I'm just biased, being a Pujols owner and all, but I'm quite happy with him at 3B and Lieberthal at C, and I think I'm better off than someone with Javy at C and Blalock at 3B.
You can smack me for that one, not sure how I overlooked Pujols for a Fantasy MVP. Add him to the list of candidates.
This is more of a Mid-Season MVP. A lot can happen in the second half.
