Verlander, Cain or Liriano for keepers

Postby zepfan » Tue Jan 10, 2006 12:50 pm

At the end of last year I thought Liriano and Cain were easily the best pitching prospects (aside from Hernandez) but I've seen Verlander's name showing up alot. Which one is best in a keeper?

I voted for Cain. Don't ask me why. OK, ask. Well because I have him under contract in a keeper league, so I want him to do best. I also have Liriano in my dyansty, so...you really can't go wrong with either of the three guys. There is no wrong guy to vote for.

It is definitely a coin flip between the 3, however I like Verlander as the long term play here.

Liriano will have the fastest impact next year though.

Yeah, you really can't go wrong. I like Verlander for upside over Cain by a hair due to the fact that his control seems a little better. I've always heard that there are future durability concerns for Liriano due to his history, but then again, I've always thought that there isn't a single pitcher out there that is free of injury risk. They should all see significant time in the big leagues this year, so it'll be interesting to see which of the three has the best first year.

They are all in my top 5, but I would take Verlander over any of them.
