Any thoughts on this top pitching prospect????

Mark Pawelek of the Cubs managed a 0.00 era in 63 ip in high school also with 132 k's in those 63 innings. He was the Cubs # 1 pick in 2005 and a 2.72 era in 13 starts at rookie level. Baseball america has him listed as the cubs # 2 prospect behind Pie. Personally I see him as becoming an elite pitcher as he grows(only 20). I was wondering what any of u had tho say about him if anything :-)

Never heard of him, We'll see what he does in AA, AAA. He seems impressive so far though.

tough to tell anything about pitchers until they get to A+/AA. It is all going to depend on injuries and developing his secondary pitches. He was the top high school pitching prospect going into the draft, but moved down in the draft because Boras was his agent. Having never seen the kid pitch, I can't make too much of a scouting report.
