Politte and Mesa, can't even hold a candle to Jimenez

Postby RoxSox8 » Sun Jun 22, 2003 12:39 am

As a Rockies fan, I have tried to stick with him, but tonight was it. All he is good for is saves, and he gets the sh%! beat out of him when he doesn't record a save, with limited K's. I'm looking to drop him for either Wakefield, Koch, or M. Batista. Any thoughts would be helpful.

My Staff: SP: Halladay, Wells, C. Zambrano, Escobar, Contreras-DL
RP: Izzy, Baez, Williamson, MacDougal, and Jimenez.

I also just dropped fricken Politte for Escobar tonight. :-t <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>

So Koch is on the WW, and you still have Jimenez? I'd have made that switch long ago

Don't feel bad, I had Politte and Jimenez on one team in a league.

OUCH.

Grab Koch up. This is an easy decision in my opinion.

Just dropped Jimenez for Koch, and it feels good to be rid of both Jimenez and Politte on the same day. It's amazing I'm still in first place with those clowns, and will hopefully add to my lead with Escobar, and Koch. ;-D

welp, generally as a rule of thumb i try to horde closers.. cuz i want the sav eops... even with a 6.65 era, sure it all adds up, but i'll rely on my starters to hold it down... as long as i can get wins and Ks.

so even tho jimenez sucks, i'd ride him til he's dead... but if it was him or koch, i'd take koch... the white sox are a .500ish team, he's a solid closer, and these wins over the cubs might give them a little boost. hey, at least he'll have an op every 4-5 days when loaiza starts, eh? =D

...so until you dropped Politte for Escobar you had 6 closers and 3 SP?

The teams like that in my leagues are buried near the bottmom of the standings, but Hey! They are the save champeens of the leaugue!

I think you have way too many closers and not enough SP. There is no reason you should be starting Jiminez.

Good move on getting rid of those guys.....I saw..after one game...Jimenez's ERA in the game was 108.0...

.....yikes..... :-[

Search your team for someone to drop for Miggy Batista also, he might even be more valuable overall than the inconsistent Koch. Batista refined his sinker in the offseason and he's usin git much more often now and it's pretty dirty. Get MiggyBat!
