where's our guy that always quotes the official major league rules... does willis still get credit for a shutout even when the game is called prior to 9 IP?
Sorry, they don't count in my league. I doubt you get credit for a
shutout since his start would be no different than pitching 5 shutout
innings and being pulled and the bullpen pitching 4 shutout innings.
Although the game was shortened, Willis pitched the complete game for the Marlins. Who the living blue cheese is that the same as him pitching the same number of innings and then the bullpen taking over. If the bullpen takes over then he's not pitching the complete game. It's called a COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT buddy, not a 9-INNING SHUTOUT. THINK! FRIG GUY.

I was wrong ! Beat me to death with a fantasy baseball bat.
That stat is not something I really thought about since it does not
count in my league. Not the first time I have been wrong, nor will
it be the last time. Whatever, I am glad Willis is on my team !
This is probably a little late, but Willis should be credited with a complete game shutout in leagues that count it. He did pitch the complete game. Doesn't matter if it's 5 innings or 12 innings, he still gets a complete game shutout.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
