What are the Tigers looking to do with Verlander next year?

Postby Music2004Man » Fri Dec 23, 2005 12:57 am

I was curious if anyone knew what the Tigers were going to do with Verlander. I was surprised when they brought him up at the end of last year because he had dominated A and AA but I would have thought they would be careful with the young arm and give him some time in AAA. Do you think they will give him a chance in the rotation next year or will he start the year in AAA followed by a Sept callup?

I definitely think the Tigers give him a shot at the rotation in 2006. If he doesnt start the year with the club, it wont be long before he is a full time member of the Tiger's rotation.

I think it'll be his spot to lose in Spring Training

Thanks guys, that's good to know. He'll definitely be on my sleeper radar for next year. I'm not expecting him to dominate at such a young age but he could be solid in that ballpark.

His stuff is filthy. It is inevitable he will be in the rotation. If not to start the year, early into the season.
