Which if true indicates that the Cubs may think Prior will never live up to his billing.

so is it saying that Prior might go to the O's for Tejeda, and then the O's would trade him to some team in the AL West?
if thats the case, I would trade him to the Rangers for Maryland native Mark Teixeira

Prior in Texas might drop him on the draft boards right out of the top 10 rounds.

I can't understand the O's making a trade for immediate contention in the next 2 years b/c they have no chance. they would be smart to deal miggy for near-MLB prospects.
The Cubs cannot afford to lose Prior. He absolutely has #1 stuff and you don't deal a #1 pitcher even though you have Zambrano as #1b (or a) b/c the rest of the rotation is rich-man's garbage and Kerry wood ending up as god knows what. with so many question marks in that rotation as it currently stands with prior and no huge offense to compensate, you just do not deal a #1, bedard or no bedard.
TennCare rocks!!!!

Or it indicates that Prior is going home next offseason, for sure, and the Cubs want to get something of his value.
I'm still under the belief he's coming back to San Diego next offseason.
I did not think Prior had enough service to be a free agent after 06. Maybe I am wrong but I thought he would be arbitration elig only.
