I'd like to see Kotsay or Jay Payton from Oakland. Maybe for David Wells?

,,,i don't think the redsox are interested in jpayton and vice versa...even tho' jay forced epstein's hand, the trading of him for cbradford (subsequently non-tendered) was very shortsighted

The A's wouldn't deal Kotsay for Wells and unless we go and sign Thomas, you guys won't get Payton either. We don't need Wells at all. Man, having three CFs patrolling your outfield sure is a nice thing to have isn't it? :-D

I gotta admit that one of the first things that I thought when Damon signed with the Yankees, was whether Boston would be calling about Kotsay. I don't know what they would offer.....although Kevin Youkilis may not really have much of a future there....now that they have Marte. Although they may pursue a trade for Crisp more aggressively now in exchange for Marte. They've got options either way.

New idea I got from the Boston Globe this a.m.: Brad Wilkerson. Very high OBP (which the Sox leadership values highly) and can play cf. Would starting pitching be enough to get him from the Rangers?

I'd take Wilkerson... or any available jazz guitarist who can patrol center in Fenway adequately...

Yep, the Rangers could always use another arm or two. They'd probably be thrilled to get Clement, mostly b/c he's a live arm with experience however shaky. Sox probably have a better chance of landing Nix, though.
