Why can't the Mariners spend money WISELY?

I'd have dealt for Snohomish native Adam Eaton ESPECIALLY because he will be a free agent after the 06 season. In this day and age, who wants to be married to a 30 year old starting pitcher for 4 years like we now are with 9-9 Washburn?

Gil Meche would have been a viable trade option if the Pads took Chris Young. Texas just did not give up all that much to get him.

Bavasi is on the spot here, the new young TEXAS GM (name escapes me) is already beating his butt on the job...I believe the Bavasi Seattle legacy will be leaving the team crippled with bad contracts and being the guy who put the team in the basement of the AL WEST for 5 years or more...in a row!
