I like him for a baseline of 16 wins, 3.85 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 155 Ks.
Cliff Lee didn't have back surgery. He had surgery to repair a hernia on his right side.
I think he can harness his control a little more and improve upon his 2005 season (I'm not sure if he can keep getting all the wins though). He's definately a top 20 starting pitcher.

Ah, that mistake would be a result of me being too lazy to investigate. I saw "Hernia" and just assumed. Heh.
I agree. Definitely top 20. I am keeping him for $17 and I think he is worth around $23ish.
I like him just as much as most people here and even though they're kind of early, the mock drafts I've seen completed he has gone pretty late. You might be able to get him pretty deep in the draft as a nice value pick. 13th-14th round

What is Kerry Wood doing up there?
Yeah, I agree with asking that question. The underachievement/injury history of this guy would put him way under a top 25 pitcher. I am no expert, but I would draft him as my 4th starter at best...and even that is a shaky proposition.

Justin: I think your prediction is sound but I think your $ valuation is inflated (inless you are in an AL only). I understand that each league values players differently. For example, in my league closers are always high priced. In my league I am sure that Lee will cost less than $10 and probably closer to $6-7. We have a $260 budget.
My point (if there is one) is that you can do better than Lee for that amount of money.
