a crap outing against the sox like today, the 3 in a row he won prior to this start, or a medicre, inconsistant pitcher?

Clement has been this type of pitcher forever. Looks totally dominating for a bit, then gets bombed. And that's why he's a high risk commodity.

it's pretty ironic. he does well at great american, and looks like he's gotten it together. then he gets pounded by the white sox, minus the dh and minus frank thomas. that might be an indication that no start is safe with him

Heck, I'll admit that I started him... I looked at it all and it seemed like a good start... argh!

I guess sometimes with the right situation you can still make a bad start.
