He's getting rocked by the White Sox. Numbers so far:
3 innings, 9 hits, 2 bb, 6 er, 3 k's.
Hope you had him benched today.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Well, they are sacrificing him to the wolves. It hasn't gotten any better. Final line for Clement:
3.1 innings, 11 hits, 3 bb, 7 er, 3 k's.
Farnsworth came in with the bases loaded and got the two outs without letting any of the runners score.
Now I'm wondering if I start Zambrano tomorrow.

Damn, my pitching stats for the week were looking good until then. Now I have to hope that Lohse and Willis can set things right again for me later tonite.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I NEVER like to see my pitcher strike out the side in the first inning. It is ALWAYS a bad omen!!

I'm considering dropping Clement. He's been so inconsistent it's sick. Getting lit up by the White Sox? C'mon! The rest of my pitching staff has been solid. I'm in a roto league with an innings limit and am considering dumping Clement for a good middle reliever who will give me a good K/inning ratio. Right now I'm in first or second in most pitching categories, and have been benching Clement unless he's got a favorable matchup.
Twang, twang, twang. That's the sound of all the Clement owners dropping him on the waiver wire. Unfortunately, I have him in one of my leagues.

I'm not dropping him yet. If he implodes in his next start (which is against the White Sox again, so hopefully he'll figure out what he did wrong), then I may reconsider my decision.
But this was one of the frontrunners in K's last year, and the Cubs have a solid team. You don't throw away that many K's unless all hope is lost. His K/BB ratio is still very good - he's not walking a lot of people, but opposing hitters are just tagging his pitches.
I'd give him more to sort things out. Bench him, but don't dump him.
I'm not dropping him yet. I've got bench room to spare. He's more than welcome to ride the pine until he decides to get back on track.
