Sources are coming out saying the Mets and Red Sox are in a Manny for Beltran trade talks? This is more like it.. I think Beltran would be a great fit in Boston seeing that Damon looks like he may go to the Dark Side

Something makes me doubt this one drastically....

The Mets just acquied Beltran last season, and since they added some more pieces to the team, i wouldn't see the logic in shipping off one of those pieces already.

Yea this definatly wont happen, and if somehow it does I would be shocked. They just signed him for 7 years, and it makes sense that he wouldn't reach expectations in his first season playing in New York. He will definatly do better in 2006 and hopefully he will start hitting like he did in the playoffs in 2004.

You can't trade a player within a year of signing a free agent contract. I believe that Carlos signed in January, so a deal couldn't be completed and processed until then.

Actually, I don't believe that's quite true. A free agent that has been signed can't be traded until after the next June 15th.
