could be a steal for the d'backs IF cyoung continues the progress that he showed this summer....the southern league saw 4 outstanding OFers (jfrancouer,delmon young, jhermida,cyoung) and young out performed all of them...better deal than most of the marlins everything must go sale

I think it can be easily inferred that IF Delmon had gotten the abs in AA that Chris Young received, then Delmon would have easily beat Chris in avg, homers, and rbis.. they probably would have been tied in steals, and Chris would have scored more runs.

Both have been successes so far, so why should they stop?

If I can get Vasquez for cheap I will take him. Sure he is up and down and has medicore ratios, but the Ks are great. If all you have to pay for him is a #4 starter price, that is good value.

The move to the AL will not be tremendously helpful with the DH, but he is moving from one hitter's park to another and going into a division that has, in aggragate, crappy offenses. I think a repeat of last year's numbers, with a few less Ks, is likely.

Vazquez was somewhere around a 2-5 dollar pitcher depending on the league format last season. Ranked at about 71 overall among all pitchers. That is hardly worth squat.

-He posted a 4.4 ERA in the NL...that will climb.
-His WHIP was about 1.25...which will also climb.
-He played in the NL West...the division where .500 is an accomplishment. No Bonds, No Drew to boot for the bulk of the season. The Giants, Dodgers and Padres combined would have a hard time fielding an offense that would be considered very good.

True, his ERA and stuff will climb...but the K's won't. Unfortunately, he's the most inconsistent pitcher on the planet...will be get along with Ozzie Guillen either?

Still, he could be this year's Garland from the Sox.

Ummmm good deal for the Sox? He blew in NY, he blew in Arizona, and he's going to blow in Chicago too. Last year people were saying he'll get his act together again since he's pitching in hte NL, I really hope I don't hear anybody saying something like again just this time with the AL.
