Yankee or Dixie?

Being from Nevada is really confusing. I got 53% Dixie, barely into the Dixie category. I suppose this is because we have a bunch of rednecks round here. However, we're also like heavily influenced by California, which I like totally think is more like the Northeast. I have no idea what's going on. My Dad lived in Alabama for awhile so I guess that explains it. Maybe.

I mostly just call everything Coke but if i say pop or soda i say Pop

Not only is pop not commonly used in the St. Louis area (it's soda here), we also have a very, very local colloquialism where little kids call it sodie (pronounced so-dee).

the sodee-pop term is spread out a little further than you think, but i guess the hustle and bustle pace of the big metropolitan area of St Louis has forced them to drop the pop off the end


back when i was a youngun, my great grandmother called it sodee-pop, she lived in Evansville Indiana. in fact, that whole side of the family called it sodee-pop, and they were spread out from the middle of Indiana to northeen Tennessee

i grew up in Carbondale, 2 or so hours south of STL. i called it sodee-pop when i was a kid, and my boy calls it sodee-pop now
