The A's have acquired Milton Bradley from the Dodgers for one of their top prospects, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports. No hint was provided. Javier Herrera would seem to be too much to give up and Daric Barton definitely is, but Jairo Garcia, Andre Ethier, Dan Meyer, Dallas Braden, Richie Robnett and Danny Putnam could be in play. The Dodgers resolved the Milton Bradley situation on Tuesday, trading the outfielder and infielder Antonio Perez to the Oakland A's for top outfield prospect Andre Ethier
you know what else is interestin about this ..
Repodesta's first trade was for Werth.
another average OF prospect ...
at least this guy can hit for average
This is a fantastic deal providing Milton Bradley doesn't implode, which there is a good chance that he will. Perez is icing on top.
This means that Bradley will play right field, Swisher to 1B, and Johnson to DH. That leaves 3 centrefielders in the outfield - Bradley, Kotsay, Payton which is a big plus.
Personally, with the market's current demand for outfielders, I could even see Payton being moved and the A's signing Thomas.
This is nice to hear. We got a guy who will shore up our offense for a solid if unspectacular OF prospect. This means we probably won't sign Thomas though, unless another trade is in the works. The odd man out is Payton, and I don't see the A's moving him to the bench for the $4 mil we're giving him. He is a fine fourth OF to have though.
