Yeah, Giants fans know what's up with Cain. He could be the staff ace by 2007...sorta like Harden jumping up the ranks with Oakland.
Cain is loaded with potential. He was Baseball America's #2 pitching prospect entering last season (only behind Felix Hernandez); #13 prospect overall. For comparison, Harden was BA's #29 prospect in 2003 before he entered Oakland's rotation fulltime.

Harden is a good comparison. Except I think Harden was more polished when he came up. Cain was pretty mediocre at AAA but very effective when he joined the big league club.

With the White Sox getting Vazquez, McCarthy's value takes a big hit, unless they trade Contreres. There's no spot for him. He don't need to go back to AAA. Not sure what they will do. It's kind of a good dilema, they have too many good starting pitchers.
