Anyone know where i can get a list of......

Postby SHOCKandAWE » Tue Dec 13, 2005 12:35 pm

minor leaguers for my minor league draft. We can only draft players with 0 EXP in the majors. 1 at bat is not allowed. I have the #2 pick and I am thinking about either Delmon Young or JUstin Upton. What do you guys think???

It is a 3 round draft so I would need about 36 players on my list to draft from.
Any help would be greatful

There is one 2006 list out:
http://www.attheplate.com/2006/06_rookied.htm

Definitely Delmon #1, and what I've read on Upton is that he's a special player in the mold Griffey Jr or ARod were. I wouldn't argue with him at #2. I would also consider Wood (who I think will be #2 when BA comes out with their top 100) Barton, Stewart or Butler.

Here is a list of teams breakdowns for prospects. With the #2 pick in a minor league draft, if Delmon is there, he would be the easy pick. After Delmon it gets a little bit hairy though as Brandon Wood, Ian Stewart, Lastings Milledge, Alex Gordon, and even the unsigned Justin Upton and a few others as well all have a case for the 2nd best player in the minors with no major league experience.

I wouldn't take Upton at #2. This is no knock on his long-term potential, but I would look for someone a little more MLB-ready. Such as Barton. But maybe the guy with #1 will do something stupid and Young will fall into your hands.

I have the option to keep Barton as my second round pick for $3. I think i will do that and keep Lastings Millege as my 3rd round pick at $1
Luck for me i got those two guys in last years draft for our league. I have Ian Stewart as my 1st round pick for this year, however i am throwing him back in hopes of getting Young but worst case scenerio i could just pick him up again at #2

Delmon Young...but there is a very good chance he will go with the first pick.

Just a heads up, but only the top 25 on that list is updated. So you might wanna find another source. When is your draft? Baseball America should be in the begining of January.
