I'm still hoping that he signs with the Jays.

C'mon J.P. we know you didn't mean "We're done with him"

Offer up some more cash...

As a Jays fan, I really don't want him if he's more than 5-6 million, and even that is pushing it for a player that hasn't played a full season the last 2 years.

They are already 5 million over the budget without Nomar's contract on the books, I doubt he becomes a Jay.

We'd be much better served signing a cheaper option like Thomas or Sanders to DH.

that's just asking for lefty and right specialists to come in. you starting off with 4 rightys followed by 3 leftys. no way is that the lineup.

Matsui was better against lefties. ARod was better against righties. If you look at it that way, its R R L R R L L S L.

Yeah, not a chance that happens. Giambi gets on base at a ridiculous rate, so you want him hitting early in the order ahead of the RBI guys, not just Cano.

I fully expect Giambi to be hitting 3rd, maybe 4th at the start of the season.

Well if this is all they are talking about, I will withdraw my criticsim of the idea. 1 year 4 M is worth the gamble I suppose.

Rotoworld:
The New York Post believes the Yankees, Indians and Astros are the finalists for Nomar Garciaparra and that he could make a decision by the weekend.
Nomar would play first base for the Yankees, right field for the Indians or left field for the Astros. The Post says the Yankees and agent Arn Tellem have discussed a one-year, $4 million contract.

Does it just seem like George has a special affection for Red Sox players? Clemens, Boggs, and now Nomar?

Anyway, I'm not sentimentalist that wants Nomar back on the Sox, but seeing him in those pinstripes would make me sick.
I'm back. Sorta.

Do not boo Johnny.

First of all welcome back.

Secondly, I'm in agreement with you. I don't want my prior comments on Nomar to be misconstrued. I don't necessarily want to see him come back, I just don't want him to become a Yankee. He WAS the Red Sox at one time and him signing with the Yanks would make me sick.
