Renteria~he'll have a resurgance in Atl., great defense and good seasons prior to last.
Javy Lopez~he's been a great offensive catcher
Womack~the yanks basically screwed him
Mesa~he's been real solid as closer for the pirates
Rogers~he was a great pitcher last year.
Womack and Mesa????? Neither of those guys are worth that much, they are both horrible. And did you pay attention at all to Mesa last season?

That we had no reason to expect that performance out of Beltran is relevant, because, as they said, hindsight is 20/20. Foresight doesn't exist. So we're left with projections.
And if the projections are garbage then so is the contract in that case. This is not fantasy it is real world and real money. If Beltran continues to produce like Matt Lawton or some 4th OF then Minaya is to blame. Period. Saying there is no way for him to have predicted or projected the falloff is not relevent. He is paid to NOT make mistakes like that.
If you are Wilpon paying Beltran's check, you probably are not really all that sympathetic to the fact that Minaya had projections and could not have known. All you care about is the cash coming out of your wallet to pay a guy way above what he is producing. Same for Giambi and Moose and RJ and Klesko and most of those guys. Too mant expensive mistakes like that get GMs fired and ruin franchises for years. Unless of course you are Brian Cashman, in which case you get a raise.

It's not my money so I really don't care. If you are so unhappy with what these players are making just think what the teams paying these guys are making. Guess what they all deserve it because we are buying the tickets to the games and buying baseball packadges and hats T Shirts and etc.
