depends on the weather. i dno't own much "in-between" clothing. they are great for wearing out to bars that don't have coat checks.

I think they look silly, especially if just for fashion purposes. There are some old guys here at work who wear sweater vests but I allow it... they're all over 50 and look better than some old men who have the same wardrobe from 1969.
The vest is a tough one though, but I've seen nothing to suggest that it is in any way a "trend" although I do occassionally see it. I actually see more women wearing the "vest jacket" which was more popular on guys in the 1980's (think Back to the Future when Marty was wearing the vest jacket and everyone in the '50's thought it was a life preserver).

Wait a minute - are you saying there are people who would disagree with this?

I was just as shocked to learn this as you are. Apparantly golf courses and fancy restaurants just don't see the style of anything baseball related.

i would not wear that...
someone said it perfect, if it is cold enough to keep your torso warm, it is cold enough to keep your arms warm...
for me it goes from t-shirt to sweatshirt to winter jacket...no middle layers
