I do believe he was injured quite a bit, even when he finally made it to the majors with Cleveland. However, the hype motion never stopped for him, and he turned out to be an utter dissapointment.
That's always a legitimate concern. Perhaps David Wright spoiled me. I definitely understand the argument that if you can get Manny or Zito now you do it because Milledge might turn out to be an Escobar. Although I would hate for him to be our next David Wright on another team.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
I would not trade Milledge for anything but a top tier hitter/pitcher. If we are going to trade Milledge at all i'd be sad if it went for Zito. I would like to see Norfolk put Milledge around at RF and LF just so that hes comfortable in those positions since he won't be playing CF for the mets for the next 6 years. I really don't see where Milledge would fit on the mets team if you think about it. Reyes/Wright/Beltran/Delgado will probably be here for a while. Would we throw Reyes out of the leadoff and stick Milledge their (depending on his OBP) in a couple years. I personally think we should trade Milledge for a young top tier pitcher, Oswalt-Sheets-Zambrano-Dontrelle, maybe i'm being optomistic, but we need someone to back up Pedro.

Milledge has the arm to play RF and he projects to be a 30/30 player so he'd fit there. I think Milledge has a shot of being an All-Star break call-up.

I hate to say it, but I don't think Milledge will be the all-star that has been projected. He's such a free swinger, he could go either way. He could be Corey Patterson or he could be Vlad Guerrero.
At this point, I'm betting on Pitty. But hoping for Vlad.
