Great job on the rankings ;-D

But I dont agree with the Tek comment. I have read that Shoppach has had experience catching the knuckler in the minors and could be Wakes personal catcher. I see him stepping into the same role that Mirabelli had last yr.

For all of the people who say barrett should be moved up, where do you see him being ranked. And does anyone think mauer is not the no 2?

A lot of Mauer "hate" here. I've got Mauer at #2 as well.

I do agree with moving Barret up, he should be just outside the top 10, maybe barely on it.

Here's what I have Mauer and Varitek projected at. Top is Mauer, bottom is Varitek.

Code: Select all: R HR RBI SB AVG 62 17 64 10 0.310 73 21 88 3 0.276

The stolen bases and average are what really set Mauer apart from Varitek. Agreed that Varitek is a close #3 though, and is a very solid source of RBI for a catcher.

Finally, someone agrees with me that Kendall is a worthless fantasy baseball piece of garbage. Although I hear he is a decent guy in real life.

He is a sleeper, but I have heard nothing suggesting he will be in the OF at all this year. The Pirates are still looking for another RF because they don't have faith in C. Wilson...problem is there's no one else to get. They'll have to stick with him most likely, and that'll mean a Gerut/Wilson/McLouth platoon. That leaves no room for Doumit even if they wanted to use him out there.

As far as I know, Doumit is the starting catcher at this point. He's still young, and they have a higher power ceiling for him than Cota. Being a switch hitter also helps. I think he'll see 80% of the work this year at the C spot. Whether that makes him a sleeper, I don't know; I'd only consider him in deep or large leagues. :-)

barrett is way too low..hes the best catcher in the NL and will be around .290 with 25 homeruns and 80 rbi i believe

I agree that i put barret too low but please 290, 25,80 is way to optimistic
