- The Scoville Memorial Library is the United States oldest public library. The library collection began in 1771, when Richard Smith, owner of a local blast furnace, used community contributions to buy 200 books in London. Fees were collected for damages, the most common being "greasing" by wax dripped from the candles by which the patrons read.

The Original American Territory of New Mexico that congress created in 1850 included all of New Mexico and Arizona plus parts of Colorado, Nevada, and Utah. The boundaries of present day New Mexico were drawn by congress in 1863 but New Mexico didn't become a state until 1912.

Connecticut now has the highest state median income in the country. That's probably because a lot of the hoity toity of New York City reside in beautiful New England Connecticut.

Connecticut is famous for it's great shopping and has almost as many malls as New Jersey. In fact, Conn. is a lot like New Jersey except it's clean. Also, no sales tax. Money.

New Mexico is a fine state, but for my money, I'd take Conn. any day.

Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

If we're going to have a state called New Mexico than Mexico the country should be FORCED to rename themselves OLD Mexico.

Because in New Mexico, you CAN drink the water.
