im more interested in the cafe members updated postional rankings i would even be willing to help out with those a bit after these pesky exams are over
Carlos Delgado 12th best 1B just ahead of Jim Thome?
Alfonso behind Chone? I dont think Alfonso will drop that much.
Delmon Young is the 14th best OF without ever playing an MLB game, and likely wont even play half of the 2006 season.
They think very highly of Figgins.
Roy Halladay 13th, behind John Patterson? Are they joking. I think they are projecting him to get injured...
I havent looked into it that much, but they seem pretty decent after that, but one has to wonder if some of these picks were made by none other but Brandon Funston.
The Mets will win the World Series this year.
I'd take Figgins over Soriano any day of the week. There is no gaurentee that Soriano will run for a new team who only has him for one year and that stadium is a HR hitters nightmare. Add to that the fact Soriano has been terrible outside of Texas the last 2 years and no thanks.
Prior is 21st best sp, behind the likes of Haren and Bartolo
I agree, the Delmon 14th best OF is a bit premature, if we're talking this year, and Felix is not going to end up as the 6th best starting pitcher this year
Also not a fan of Burrell as 31st OF, behind Randy Winn and Coco Crisp
Chipper at 14th 3b is also too low. Injury risk is there, but if that holds up, I'll be quite happy snagging him after Beltre, Cantu, and Blalock.
And I know the points are close, but Rollins #2 ss, only behind Young and ahead of Tejada, Jeter, and everybody else for that matter. Someone is using a late season performance weighted measure!
But as always, its easier to tear down to build up, great starting point for some rankings, and to get a feel for next season. Thanks for the post!
Tejada behind Reyes, Rollins and Young???? I can see someone putting him behind young and could understand it. But how the heck do you put him behind Reyes and Rollins?
It seems like SS is very SB biased. I would rate Peralta above Lugo and Lopez. And Nomar at 23? I guess it's understandable if they're assuming an injury for him.
Is there anything fluffier than a cloud? If there is, I don't want to know about it.
Tejada behind Reyes? Wow. Whatever the person who decided that is smoking, I want some!
I don't like Lee so high, either, but I know a lot of people won't agree with me -- I just see him as a smaller-range Adrian Beltre, but with a higher starting point. Last season was wholly aberrant, IMO.
I also think Adam Dunn is ranked way too low in outfield -- Ichiro isn't worth more than Dunn, nor is Sizemore or Andruw Jones.
And Jeremy Hermida ranked ahead of Damon, Giles, Wells, Pods, Burrell, etc., etc.? I'm just not seeing it, not with his extremely limited experience.
Felix Hernandez and John Patterson are too high.
Bonderman should be higher. So should Livan.
Your wisemen don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick...
