it'll all be worth it when you get a high score. By the way with the shortness of your last post I wouldn't call it a rant. maybe a ra since it was really short. :-D

Never took them. Went the JC route, maintained a 3.5 GPA and got into a decent University.

Could have probably gone to better schools, but I wanted to go to ASU. USC is my dream school, but not worth the money for me. Too close to home too.

I took the SAT's twice - did poorly. Then took the ACT and had an average score which was apparently good enough for Syracuse. My grades in HS it seemed mattered more to the admissions people.

ooo man...SAT work. Tough times. :-°

But in the end, the work really does help you and you hopefully do well. ;-D I had to go to an English tutor and my English grade rose 50 pts from where I started from (practice test).

The best part in my case was, if I got a 1250 or better, my parents wouldn't make me retake it (just counting Math/English). I got exactly 1250 (620 on writing and 11/12 on hte essay, but it averages to pretty much a 1250 anyway).

Again though, the work is very draining, but worth it in the end.

we just got the PSAT's back...basically you go in blind (well at least I do, some take PSAT classes :-t ) to see what your strengths are etc.

I got

Math: 720
Reading: 610
Writing: 630

That is 1330 out of 1600 or 1960 out of 2400...

I may take a class in the spring, if not I will do other work to improve my grade. Honestly, I should have gotten every math problem correct. IMO, the math section was a joke. Idealistically, I could get 800 math and at best 720 english 720 writing...but we do not live in an idealistic world so of course that will not happen :-t

I didnt think the PSAT's were very long, tiring or stressful...they were just another test.

If you think the SAT's are hard then just take the ACT. It took me 3 tries to break 2100 for the SAT, but only one try to break 30 for the ACT. ACT's are extremely easy compared to the SAT. }:-)

Mine will be back then soon, I guess. I found it pretty easy, from what I remember.
