Tejada interested in Cubs?

Postby bane » Sat Dec 10, 2005 4:46 pm

ESPN 1000 is reporting that Miguel Tejada would be interested in playing for the Chicago Cubs and the Cubs are currently trying to get in contact with the Orioles to check his availability

don't have a link, just heard it on the radio

How is this a rumor??? We could post this with every other team name swapped out for "Cubs".

"The Devil Rays are trying to contact the Orioles to ask about Tejada."
"The Rockies are trying to contact the Orioles to ask about Tejada."
"The Nippon Ham Fighters are trying to contact the Orioles to ask about Tejada."

I'm sorry, if they're not discussing names and it looks like it may well be possible, don't call it a "rumor".

Tejada said he has interest in playing for them though, i doubt he has interest in the other teams you mentioned

i guess it's not a rumor, just trying to start some discussion

Not sure about that, the Nippon Ham Fighters are proposing a lucrative trade offer.

I would be quite pleased if this "rumor" amounted to anything at all. Jim Hendry needs to step up and offer about anything for such a player. I would absolutely love seeing Tejada in Cubbie blue next season, but Im sure the price would be immense.

Ronny Cedeno, Jeriome Williams, and Patterson are all trade bait in a deal like this, though Im sure the O's would ask for the likes of Felix Pie...

Think the O's would do it if Kerry Wood was part of a package? As a Cubs fan, I'd be ok with giving up Wood for Tejada.

I'd call it a rumor. By definition a rumor is something that has uncertain truth. There are issues with should it be posted or should it be said "some guy said such and such and I heard this that and the other" but that's really beyond the point.

But the title as it stands is true, or at least more so than the jokes you put up. Tejada said that he would love playing for the cubs. (WGN/http://www.mlbtraderumors.com)

Leyland said, "We thought we were getting a hell of a player, but Neifi simply did not perform well."

really?
