Who else do you suggest the Jays go after. And yes that is exactly why. Why else would it be?

Why do they need to go after anyone? They aren't paying Nomar whatever it is he wants and I doubt they wanna pump big bucks into this playboy.

I doubt that the jays have the $ left in their budget to take on Glaus's contract. I suspect that if talks with Nomar have slowed it's for the same reason. They do seem to be looking a good bat but a relatively inexpensive one, e.g. Mench or a deal in which they can dump some salary (Batista) while getting a contract of relatively equal value.

After a few weeks on the back-burner, the Boston Globe is back to reporting on a three-team deal between the Red Sox, Angels and D’Backs that would land OF Manny Ramirez in Anaheim and 1B-3B Troy Glaus in Boston…

thats a horrible rumor for a couple of reasons ..

A) the Red Sox already have (2) 3b in Lowell and Marte ..
b) Glaus has never played 1Bin his MLB career.

Glaus can go on some amazing hot streaks, like the one he had at the start of the 04 season...I'd love to see him in Boston.

yeah, glaus was one of the worst signings of last year. 4 years 45 million...for an injury prone guy. although the jays would prolly be trading away batista...do the dbacks even want him back? it's not nearly enough to give the jays some breathing room with the salaries. i doubt glaus come to toronto...a 3B is not really want the jays are looking for anyway. overbay, hillenbrand, hisnke, koskie, hill...way too many people.
