Completely agree. Total insanity out there right now with some of these contracts.

I know this is off-topic a bit, but does anyone know the top pitching FA's next yr? Maybe the Rangers should save their money, trade one of their OF's for pitching this yr, and go out into the market the next yr.

There aren't really that many great free agent starters next year, but I highlighted what I believe to be the best ones, and the ones worth the most money next year on the market.

Thanks for the list eftda. Wow, next year looks to be a much better year to get some FA starters. Schmidt and Pettitte will likely get some insane contracts.
There are a lot of potential steals though, I mean guys like Randy Wolf, Wade Miller, Kip Wells, Gil Meche, and Vicente Padilla all have some upside if they could just put it all together and/or stay healthy.
Any chance the Rangers will look to deal one of their LFs (Mench's name has been tossed around a lot) to the Braves for some help with SP? Horacio Ramirez should be available (if they want to go down that road...) or perhaps John Thomson.

Multiple sources told the Post-Dispatch that the Giants appeared the clear frontrunners. Morris is expected to get a three-year deal worth about $25 million. Dec. 11 - 12:47 am et

Haven't heard a word mentioned about the Braves and Texas, but either of those two would help the Ranger's staff (or lack of staff). I wouldn't mind seeing something like that happen.

I think SF would be his best fit. Vet pitcher. Hopefully they don't have a SP breakdown with Schmidt and Morris, but they could help along Cain and Lowry.
