Is he worth the #1 pick in my AL only if guys like Butler and Kendricks are gone? I have Kinslar and jason Kubel on my minor reserve. Looks like Boston will return him to Triple A another year because of Lowell.I don't know much about the NL minor leaguers.

what about Barton and Delmon?

But yes, if those guys are gone Marte is certainly worth the pick.

A Gordon Royals 06 top pick 3B
J Clement Mariners 06 to pick Catcher

AL only...kinda sucks for the guy who had Abinal Sanchez and Hanley.

I would take Marte, he could come be up early if Lowell or Youkilis struggles. He could also start in left if Manny is traded.

Alex Gordon will also be very good (but maybe not as soon as Marte) and Jeff Clement (who is blocked by the M's new Japaneese catcher).

Yeah, go w/ Marte given what's not available. Not sure how true it is, but I read something about Marte refusing to switch to OF as part of the reason the Braves traded him to the Bosox.

I read that Marte has some rear in the elbow. Although it will not prevent him from playing it may require future surgery. He should be okay but it is something to monitor.

It's just a rumor. Towards the end of the above thread, someone quotes something contradictory to the rumor. At this point, I'm leaning towards him being just fine, but you never know.

If he gets traded to Cleveland fo CoCo crisp, he should start...Boone had a not so good year...I think he'd be pretty good in that indians lineup
