He was a pretty solid hitter. 69 RBI, .295 avg , 45 R, .782 OPS in 410 AB. He'll get a job somewhere. There are worse starting catchers out there.
He basically carried the Angels in the Yanks series. I am sure a team can use his great defensive skills and occasional power hitting.

I'm surprised the Angels didn't offer him arbitration. I mean Jeff Mathis isn't exactly ready IMO... he still needs a year in limited spots to show wha he can do... giving him the starting job is boggling to me while they could have Bengie for another year at a 6-7 million price tag.

He will be splitting time. He doesn't have the full job. Scoscia likes Jose Molina (I think he's better defensively than Bengie) and he will play close to half the the games.

Um, yeah right. So far he's been the best Molina and he's certainly an above average C, offensively he was one of the 10 best C's in baseball last year and he's no slouch defensively. Yadier has the most potential and is the best defensively but he hasn't shown it with the bat yet.

A few people have mentioned what I wouldn't mind seeing. It'd be nice if the Yanks picked him up. We get a we bit younger at catcher. We could have Posada and Giambi split time at first and dh. We would get better defensivley and I think with Posada not having the stress of catching, his hitting could improve as well. I also would think that RJ might improve some since he doesn't have the best relationship with Posada and Molina seems to be very good with his staffs.

I could see them signing Molina at a discount price (4 years for 25 maybe?), then exploring trades for Posada. If nothing else they could possibly trade him around the trade deadline. People tend to trade for players they don't normally want to. Especially if it's for a decent to pretty good bat (Catcher wise at least) and contract wise they'd only have to have him for a year and a half as long as they didn't have him play 81 games at catcher.

Houston is an interesting situation since they'll save alot of money by losing Clemens. That looks like a fit since Ausmus is gone. I'm not sure Pittsburgh will offer up the money he'll want, and I'm not sure how to gauge anything that LA does.

he would be dirty at minute maid
