I don't thing Womack will be a cheap source of anything since there is no way he will be starting. As bench player, he has good value to the Reds, but he will be worthless fantasy-wise. I basically see this move as a hedge against the possibility that Encarnacion may not pan out. If that happens Freel slides to 3B and Womack takes over at 2B.

hmmm from a quick glance these two look like decent prospects. both pretty far from making an impact on the major league level tho. oh wells we unloaded blowmack ;-D

The Reds decided at the 11th hour to offer infielder Rich Aurilia arbitration. Reds manager Jerry Narron spelled out what Aurilia's role would be to Aurilia's agent, Barry Axelrod. Axelrod called the Reds at 9 p.m. to express Aurilia's wishes to return.
